Through My Lens: A Personal Journey Through Port Stephens…
Welcome to Port Stephens 2026 - through my lens
Welcome to the 2026 Port Stephens Calendar, “Through My Lens.” This year, I invite you to embark on a deeply personal and visual journey with me as I share the beauty of Port Stephens—one story at a time. Each month, you’ll find a unique QR code that unlocks a short reflection, allowing me to bring you closer to the moments and emotions behind each photograph.
Life’s path has not been without its challenges. From overcoming alcohol addiction to facing the unimaginable loss of my mother just days after receiving a cancer diagnosis, there have been times when the journey felt like an uphill battle in the dark. Yet, in the midst of these struggles, I have discovered that each climb holds the promise of a sunrise—a chance to marvel at the extraordinary beauty that life has to offer. For me, Port Stephens has been that light, a place where nature’s wonders bring solace and hope.
Through this calendar, I hope to not only showcase the breathtaking scenery of our beloved Bay but also inspire you with reflections on resilience, recovery, and the transformative power of beauty. May these musings bring you joy, connection, and a renewed appreciation for life’s wonders.
Thank you for sharing this journey with me. May 2026 be a year filled with hope, inspiration, and everything your heart desires.
This image was taken at sunrise near Salamander Jetty. The forecast for this day was for a lovely red sunrise and it was spot-on. I took some powerful strobe lights and umberellas to light up the foreground. Nature provided the colour for this picture perfect sunrise scene
February
It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
